How to create Ad-Hoc connection on Windows 8

Did you know you can create a WiFi network between 2 or more device without having a router ?
and these type of network is called Ad-Hoc 
You need a computer with WiFi running windows 8, as we know, windows 8 comes with ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) a feature that allow devices to to connect to the internet connection of your PC.


  1. Press Windows Key + X + A to open cmd in admin mode
  2. Type the following command to configure the Ad-Hoc WiFi connection: netsh wlan set hostednetwork mod=allow ssid=AnderCorpTech key=12345678
  3. Press Enter and you should see somethin similar to the screenshot bellow
  4. Now type the following command also: netsh wlan start hostednetwork
  5. Press Enter and you should also see something similar to the bellow screenshot
  6. Now, to enable Internet Connection sharing, go to Network and Sharing Center, you can search this in the search box to get there faster, open the properties for your current internet connection, and enable ICS, Make sure you do not forget to select the Ad-Hoc Network connection under Home network connection

  7. After connecting any other device to the created Ad-Hoc network, allow your PC to assign a valid internet address to your device, it will take a few seconds.
