Windows 95 anniversary, Microsoft offers free "start me up" download

Windows 95 was released to the public 20 years ago today,launched on-stage to "start me up" by Rolling Stones. Microsoft offers the world with a free download of the song to celebrate one of the better release ever.

For most people, Windows 98 was their first introduction to PC and the World Wide Web.
Windows 98 was a huge success to Microsoft because it features top improvement that was not seen in other softwares, even Apple itself.
Some of the awesome features at that time include,

  • Improved graphical user interface which had for the first time, the Start menu and the Task bar which still exist today and very important.
  • It also had Improved graphics subsystem,
  • 32-bit computing
  • Plug and play and a host of many other feature.
20 Years later we have a Start button, a Desktop, a Taskbar Computer, Document, even though they've dropped 'My nomenclatures.
After all these, 20 years later, Computer has come a long way since the days of BSOD, Defragging, CRTs, and Floppy diskettes.
